Help us, there is still much to do

With your donation to the Piero & Lucille Corti Foundation you can invest in health and promote development, justice and peace in Northern Uganda.

Thanks to your help:

  • Lacor patients will receive treatments, drugs and assistance from skilled staff.
  • Doctors, nurses and all the hospital staff can be trained and acquire better professional skills.
  • The regional economy will benefit from this and, with its constant growth, it will contribute to the development of the region of Northern Uganda.

After 20 years of conflict and more than 30,000 children kidnapped by guerrillas, over 100,000 war victims and 2 million evacuees in refugee camps, Northern Uganda is still an emergency area. Lacor hospital represents a concrete hope for survival and development for millions of human beings.

In Africa you can do much with little

To treat a patient at Lacor, including analyses and drugs, operations and intensive care, it takes little more than an average of €8 per patient. But the situation evolves and this developing country will soon see needs and costs increase. The war is over, not the emergency.
To develop, a country must invest in health and health has a high price. Lacor Hospital represents the main non-governmental economic entity in Northern Uganda and has a direct and indirect impact on the economic and social development, which goes well beyond the healthcare sector.

To deal with the new emergency of an expanding society, Lacor shall face enormous challenges and costs. This will not be possible without the support of those who believe that investing in health is investing in development, justice and peace.
The Piero & Lucille Corti Foundation offers Lacor the opportunity to continue to work to the benefit of the people in Northern Uganda. And to do this it needs you!
