For those who have always dreamt of Africa, for those who love traveling off the beaten path and for those who consider traveling a humane adventure, we have created two special packages with a short stop at Lacor. Il Gabbiano Livingston and Green Breaks tour operators have specifically organized tours for our foundation.

Serious internal conflicts in Uganda after its independence have overshadowed its fame as the "Pearl of Africa", a title that the country earned itself in colonial times. Today, the capital city Kampala well represents the rush towards economic recovery and the hopes for a future with political and social stability. Still a secret of the tourist industry, Uganda is a fascinating land of wild nature, endless spaces and extraordinarily varied flora and wildlife.
A Hospital in the Savannah
50 years ago, Lacor Hospital was a small hospital run by Combonian nuns, set up in the savannah in the Northern region of Gulu, Today, it is a small citadel with an average population of 5000, made up of employees, professionals, patients and lagwok (those who take care of their relatives during their hospital stay). Some come from adjacent states. Activity, both inside and outside the hospital, has strongly increased since the end of conflict in the region and many small businesses are being established around the hospital. Leaving twenty years of war behind, the Acholi territory is finally returning to life.

UGANDA 4X4 TOUR with Green Breaks
Nine or 12-day tours in a 4WD accompanied by an expert English speaking guide, to visit the main natural and historical attractions of Uganda. The package is managed by our trusted Ugandan agency, Green Breaks. The itinerary starts from Lake Victoria and stops at Entebbe, the former colonial capital city, Bugungu, the site where the first missionaries settled, the Kasubi tombs, once royal palace of the king of Buganda, and the Baha'i Temple. This is followed by a visit to Gulu and a two-day stop at Lacor. The tour then continues with a boat excursion on the Nile river up to the breathtaking Murchison Falls and a safari in the Murchison Falls National Park.Cost per person based on groups of 4, € 1,400. The flight from the country of origin to Uganda is not included in the price.
During your stay at Lacor, you will sleep in the house of the Corti family and take a guided tour of the wards and the hospital buildings. A fee of € 50 per day, per person, is required for food and accommodation at Lacor, paid directly to the hospital.

FLYING OVER KENYA AND UGANDA with Il Gabbiano Livingston
The earth seen from the sky: a flying itinerary, by means of a private airplane, above two of the most beautiful African regions, from Masai Mara to the Murchison Falls National Park. This package offers visits to the most beautiful natural sites in Kenya and Uganda, with safaris and guided tours in pristine lands, far from mainstream tourist itineraries. Regular flights to and from Italy are included in the package. Nine and 13-day tours are available. The cost per person is € 4,750 for a 9-day tour, based on a group of 4 participants. Il Gabbiano Livingston will donate 10% of each package sold to the Teasdale-Corti Foundation.
